GTA 6 Launch Trailer Is Here: What's New, and What Still Remains Unanswered?
Rockstar dropped GTA 6's launch trailer without warning. Jason's military past, a new Justice track and the "captured on PS5" note stand out, but the PC version and frame rate remain unclear.

What's in the trailer?
In typical Rockstar fashion, the launch trailer focuses more on the story than on gameplay. Once again, the spotlight is on the game's two main characters, Jason and Lucia, and their intertwined fates. Rockstar's own description of the game says the pair find themselves caught in the middle of a massive criminal conspiracy in the darkest side of America's sunniest state after an easy score goes wrong.

Some of the standout details in the trailer include:
- Jason's past: Jason says something that suggests he did not leave the military under particularly good circumstances. His military background could play an important role in the story.
- An electronic ankle monitor: One of the characters in the trailer is seen wearing an electronic tracking device around their ankle, suggesting someone is under supervised release.
- Plenty of action: Car chases, bank robberies, casino fights, military-style operations, and a helicopter heist. A lot of crime is packed into 90 seconds, though it is still unclear how many of these scenes will appear as actual missions in the game.
The trailer's music is also an announcement in its own right. French electronic duo Justice, who are composing original music for the game, appear with a new track titled "Flower in a Hurricane." The song also features Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
A small but important note: "Captured on PS5"
At the end of the trailer, Rockstar states that the footage was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. Rockstar does not mention the Pro model, and sources closely following the trailer say it was recorded on a standard PS5 rather than a PS5 Pro.

Why does that matter? Because most people who will play GTA 6 own standard consoles. No matter how impressive the trailer looks, there has always been the question of whether the footage was captured on more powerful hardware. The standard PS5 detail at least suggests that this level of visual quality can be achieved on hardware that many players already own.
Still, that does not answer everything. The trailer does not state what frame rate the game is running at. According to people who attended closed presentations in August, the console build at the time was running at 30 frames per second, and a 60 FPS performance mode had not yet been finalized. Rockstar has not made an official statement about performance options in the launch version. Because much of this trailer consists of cinematic scenes, it is still unclear exactly how smooth the game will feel during real gameplay.
Two questions that are still unanswered
When is the PC version coming?
GTA 6 will launch on November 19 only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not yet announced a PC version. Reports in recent days have pointed to early 2027, but Rockstar has not confirmed them. This would not be unusual for the company: both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on consoles first and arrived on PC later. But in countries such as Turkey, where PC gaming is extremely common, how long that wait will last remains one of the biggest questions.

Why has no one played the game yet?
With about five weeks left until release, no journalist or content creator has yet been able to play the game firsthand and publish their impressions. In addition to the trailers, Rockstar has promoted the game through an approximately 27-minute extended presentation released in August and closed demonstrations for the press. But during those presentations, the controller was not handed to guests; journalists watched members of the Rockstar team play instead. It is still unclear whether anyone outside Rockstar will get hands-on time before launch. That means anyone who wants to know how the game actually feels to play will probably have to wait until release day or the first reviews.
Is this the final trailer?
The trailer's title — "launch trailer" — suggests that this could be the final major video before the game releases. GTA 6 has had a long promotional cycle: the first trailer arrived in December 2023, the game was delayed multiple times, and eventually settled on a November 19, 2026 release date. The arrival of a launch trailer is a strong sign that, for now, that date is holding.

Rockstar's tightly controlled approach to promoting the game is part of the strategy: players dissect every new video frame by frame, and every small detail becomes its own discussion. According to Forbes, the trailer reached 1.1 million views in its first half hour. But the wait will soon end not with another trailer, but with the game itself. In a little over a month, everyone will be able to see for themselves whether Vice City feels as alive as it looks in the trailers.
